Our mission at Animal Mind Set is to foster a deeper understanding of our extraordinary exotic rescue animals, among people of all ages and abilities.

Animal Mind Set is proudly led by a qualified Animal Care and Welfare teacher with 6 years of lecturing experience at Bishop Burton College. Equipped with a BSc honors degree in Zoo-biology and Wildlife conservation, and a lifelong animal rescuer with a wealth of experience working with animals worldwide!

 After University, I spent two years working in various parts of Australia conserving marsupials, crocodiles and camels, I then began my venture on to Central and South America and was fortunate enough to conduct a research project on one of Latin America's most venomous snakes, the Fer-de-lance (Bothrops asper). I have had some incredible experiences in my life so far but living and working deep in the Amazon rainforest rehabilitating sloths was the most life-changing experience of them all!

My passion for tropical ecology and global perspective ensures a rich and diverse understanding of the animal kingdom. Our expertise guarantees that you receive inspiring and enriching information, making your journey with us both educational and trustworthy.

With a rich background in managing and delivering a range of animal-based courses for the past 6 years, spanning various age groups and working closely with children and adults with disabilities, I have had the privilege of witnessing remarkable transformations in hundreds of students. 

Having observed individuals initially grappling with fear and anxiety in traditional classroom settings, especially post-lockdown, I've seen these apprehensions dissipate entirely when the same class is taught in the presence of animals. Witnessing students shed their inhibitions and embrace their true selves, leaving worries at the door as they lovingly gaze into the eyes of a chinchilla! 

This transformative process, where students grow in confidence and compassion due to their interactions with animals, has become a recurrent theme in my experiences. Animals play a pivotal role in enhancing concentration, motivation, behavior, ego, and self-esteem. Not only do they facilitate the formation of friendships among students, centered around their shared compassion for these animals, but they also contribute to the overall growth of empathy among the group.

Driven by my genuine love for animals and fueled by the profound impact I've witnessed in teaching animal land-based studies, I have been inspired to establish Animal Mind Set. Beyond my admiration for these creatures, it is the firsthand observations of the positive effects animals have on self-esteem, mental health, and academic performance that fuel my dedication to sharing the transformative power of Animal Mind Set with others.
