The Animal-Human bond has been evidenced throughout history in art, cave paintings, literature & more. Dating back to before the Pharaonic Period! 

Cats were worshipped by the Egyptians; as their trusty pest control, spiritual divine and every day companions! When a cat passed away, the Egyptians would shave off their eyebrows to signify to their community that they were in a state of mourning.
